Ringacker Chapel

Where over 200 baroque angels greet visitors.

History

The name Ringacker goes back to a walled plague cemetery, which was built during the plague years 1629-1630. The small chapel there was the destination of pilgrimages. It was replaced in 1690-1694 by the present building dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, donated by the Burghers of Leuk.

In 1719, a hermitage consisting of a two-story wooden building was added on the south side of the church.
